Madeline Layeghi has joined the Satpathy Lab as the Scientific Director in June of 2022. Previous to joining us, Madeline was with the Marson Lab at the Gladstone Institutes where she worked with Ralf Schmidt and Zach Steinhardt. Their paper on CRISPR activation and interference screens was published in Science in 2022. Madeline also worked at the Chan Zuckerberg Biohub as a Supervisor in their COVID testing laboratory. Madeline graduated from the University of California, Berkeley where she majored in Integrative Human Biology. Ever since high school Madeline has been working in labs across the UCSF, UC Berkeley, and UC Davis campuses. She has always had a profound interest in genome engineering and CRISPR-Cas9 and feels most comfortable in a lab coat. Madeline is thrilled to now be part of the growing and talented Satpathy Lab!
